Rooney Disappointed Politics Gets in the Way of Budget

Trenton, N.J. – Assemblyman Kevin J. Rooney (R-Bergen) expressed his great disappointment of the legislature’s failure to pass a fiscal year 2018 budget because of Democratic infighting. He gave the following statement:

“The failure of the Democratic majority in the legislature to provide the leadership needed to prevent a government shutdown is frustrating to me as a legislator and to the people I represent.

“This political gamesmanship is precisely why the people of New Jersey have lost faith in state government. This is not the way government should operate. Plain and simple.”
