WYCKOFF, NJ – Assemblyman Kevin J. Rooney (R-Bergen) has been appointed to serve on three committees as he begins his second term representing the 40th Legislative District. In addition to returning to both the Consumer Affairs Committee and the Environment and Solid Waste Committee, Rooney will also serve on the Appropriations Committee.
“I am honored to serve on these committees during the 2018-2019 legislative session,” said Rooney. “I look forward to working with the other members on behalf the residents of New Jersey and for the betterment of state.”
On Environment and Solid Waste, Rooney plans to make cleaning up the Passaic River a priority. He will continue his work against fraud and scams on the Consumer Affairs, and use his role on Appropriations to advocate for government accountability and responsible spending.
Rooney also continues to serve on the Statewide Public Safety Communications Commission, which is responsible for planning and administering the emergency 9-1-1 telephone system throughout the state, and implementing legislation to assist first responders when needed.
